Reel Around the Sun – Riverdance

This is magic. A soft intro leads into some of the best sounding Irish dance music ever recorded. Not much needs to be said. ❤ Below, is the same song to dancing with the great Michael Flatley, because it’s just as amazing to watch these incredible dancers make such amazing sounds with such powerful footwork.

Gypsy by Ronan Hardiman

I actually fell so in love with this song that I found and learned an official piano transcription of this melody in my own spare time. There is real magic in this melody, from the rhythm to the dancing melody. ❤

The Mystic’s Dream by Loreena McKnennitt

I enjoy good middle eastern influenced songs, and this song has it gorgeously combined with Celtic influence as well. I found this album quite randomly looking through the new age section at the library and was absolutely taken by this very first track. I love the mysterious and warm atmosphere too.

The Elven Treasure || Celtic Music by Peter Gundry

I’ve lost track of a number of times I’ve listened to this on loop. It’s so wistful, angsty, almost a little mysterious; I love how softly it begins…and then grows with the violin and percussion introduction. There’s a sense of sadness and longing that’s just gorgeous through these instruments. It’s the perfect soundtrack for a fantasy romance collapsing or exploring an enchanted forest. ❤

For the King || Celtic Music by Adrian von Ziegler

I ransacked my writing playlist for some of my favorite celtic music. While I discuss composer Adrian von Ziegler and his music’s influence on my life in a future post, I wanted to put out one of his songs right away. I’ve listened this one during many writing sessions; the sobriety, the nobleness, the steel heart has been perfect for the many fantasy works I’ve written! Love it!
