Fix a Heart by Demi Lovato. I love Demi as a role model and I enjoy her music. I really love this song as it touches very clearly on what it feels like to have a hurting heart.

soundtrack

Far East Suite from Fullmetal Alchemist. LONG TIME FAVORITE of mine! Just ugh, love that pizzicato!! So chirpy and peaceful!

classical

Fire by Brian Crain. I’m currently learning this song on the piano. I love how bittersweet it is; dark and glowing.

independent/instrumental

Fairy Forest by Adrian von Ziegler. Such gorgeous harp work! Dainty, magical, shy, playful; if this isn’t what a forest full of fairies sounds like, I don’t know what else could!

alternative

Flyers from Death Parade. I will forever love this song; will never get tired of it either! Paired with its visuals, its just one of those songs that makes you want to jump up and start dancing; to get completely lost in its world. Bouncy and spirited to say the least!

Forces from Berserk. Couldn’t not include Forces, it being my favorite song from all anime written by the brilliant Susumu Hirasawa. This is the anthem of bloody, dark world of Berserk, where there are no happy endings, tragedy and character angst, and gore, gore, gore. It’s a battle song, a rally song. It’s powerful and passionate, triumphant and wailing. It’s Forces. I will always love it.

musicals

Friend Like Me from Aladdin. Ahhhh the classic Aladdin song featuring the wonderful Robin Williams! I didn’t grew up with this movie, but this song sold it to me! ❤

Elastic Heart by Sia. I actually had a hard time finding songs that begin with E, but I’m happy that I eventually did track down a few favorite to share today! My pop song today is by Sia, her popular Elastic Heart. I enjoy this song a lot, but Sia is always great. ❤

soundtrack

The Exodus from The Ten Commandments. Grew up on this epic starring Charlton Heston as Moses. This is the classic track that plays during the actual exodus montage we observe all the many slaves walking free. Love this old classic soundtrack, full of strings and brass!

classical

Echoes in Rain by Enya. Enya again! I actually really love this song though so I remembered it to include it. I listened to this on repeat A LOT last semester while working on my math. It was soothing without being a bore and I hummed along with it a lot. Humming interesting songs while doing my homework really saved my skin last semester.

independent/instrumental

The Elven Treasure by Peter Gundry. I actually have shared this once here on the blog before it’s just SO GORGEOUS AND A HUGE FAVORITE OF MINE I HAVE TO SHARE IT AGAIN. That harp at the beginning, followed by the amazing percussion beat and crying violin. Just ugh, the feels I have for this song. I can feel such agony and mystery and fantasy in this. ❤

alternative

Everybody Dance Now. UGH. NOBODY HATES THIS SONG. NOBODY COULD. I dare you try not dancing to this. I dare you.

musicals

Epiphany from Sweeny Todd: Demon Barber of Fleet Street. I dearly love this super dark musical; Johnny Depp is fantastic as always. However, I loved the soundtrack long before I saw the movie–this song has always been on of my favorites. It’s such a turning point for the main character as he realizes the man who’d stolen his family had escaped his blade. Jonny gives this song such raw anger. That dawning realization of the pure depravity of man is just so intense…and Sweeny completely letting go of moral restraint. Just wow, what a powerful musical piece.

Feels funny ending on such a dark note, but there’s no other song I’d rather share for this one but Epiphany, so it will have to do. XD

Dangerous Woman (A Capella) by Ariana Grande. Wow, this woman can sing. Her air guitar singing is super cute and adorable at the end too. But I soooo much prefer this song a capella. You can just hear the raw vocals. I don’t get the bunny suit, but that really doesn’t matter when you have a song like this.

Dracula by Bea Miller. I really like Bea Miller, I love several of her songs a lot!! I like this one because it totally owns how we all kinda want a bad boy at least once in our lives. The difference this song has in comparison to other “I want a bad boy” songs is that it’s totally for fun!

soundtrack

Decretum from Madoka Magica. Wistful and sentimental and beautiful; the perfect accompanyment to the tragic magical girl tale of Madoka Magica. ❤

Dragon Boy from Spirited Away. This is one of the most memorable tracks from Studio Ghibli’s archives. The opening tinkle of the piano, followed the grand blast of horns; the following bit of tension and oriental mystery is awesomely wonderful for the backdrop of the spirit world of Spirited Away.

classical

Dream of Flying by Brian Crain. I would love to learn this song by Brian Crain. Just wow, pure piano can sometimes really capture the emotions best! This is a slightly longer song, but it really does make me think of flying!

Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairies sung by Pentatonix. This might one of the most unique renditions of the Christmas classic, and one of the most magical! Pentatonix is always amazing, but its super cool to hear them create a song without any actually singing. It’s all pure melody!

independent/instrumental

Dreammaker by Thomas Bergersen. LONG time favorite of mine. I love it’s gradual build into a pure epic.

alternative

Dixie Biscuits by Tape Five. BECAUSE BIG BAND IS KIND OF ESSENTIAL FOR LIFE. I’ve listened to this while biking to school and back because the tempo helps me pedal at a great steady speed! Plus it repeats realy well.

Dope by BTS. I love Kpop so it’s about time I include it in this challenge. This is one of my more recent favorites. I love the music video because, wow. Such rad moves synchronized so perfectly. And that horn. I have no idea what they’re singing about but ugh, I love it anyway.

Dulaman sung by Celtic Woman. This is a looong time favorite of mine. Just wow, what a goregous song.

Do-Re-Mi from The Sound of Music. Such a classic!!!

Can’t Feel my Face by The Weeknd. I really really really love this song. It captures the concept of addiction really well and has such mellow melodic mood to it.

soundtrack

Conundrum from Ori and the Blind Forest. PC game soundtracks count right? 😉 I love this soundtrack so much. This track has such a delicate touch of danger and mystery to it that’s delicious to listen to.

classical

Caribbean Blue by Enya. I don’t know if Enya counts as classical ( might actually replace this genre for something more specific to my tastes) but this song is very classic. It’s an Enya staple, and absolutely gorgeous.

independent/instrumental

Captian Black from Mediascore. Because pirate music as always the best thing ever.

alternative

Creepy-Crawly from Anti-Magic Academy: The 35th Test Platoon. This gives me strong detective vibes and I LOVE IT. Where’s my magnifying glass?

Camelot from Camelot. I love this song; I’ve actually heard the Broadway version more than the film version so that’s the one I’m sharing today. I want to happy-ever-after in Camelot. ^_^ ❤

Blank Space by Taylor Swift. It was a toss up between this and Bad Blood, but I’m going to share this song because one of the lyrics.  “Got a long list of ex-lovers, they’ll tell you I’m insane, cause you know I love the players and you love the game.” Taylor Swift is one of the first pop stars I’ve heard to actually address both sides of chaotic relationships. People always focus on how girls fall for players, and yet no one ever points out how much guys love playing the game too.

soundtrack

Battle Training from Hero Acadamia. This sounds much more like crazy romp through the countryside then superhero battling, thanks to the incredible banjo and tempo! This is such an amazing blend of instruments, from the horns, electric guitar, modern percussion, banjo and electro sounds!

classical

Beautiful Memories by Adrian Von Ziegler. UGH THE PURE EMOTION IN THIS SONG. It’s so delicate and wistful and full of longing. To me this song is the embodiment of the emotions of love and long distance, which is no surprise as the composer wrote this for his long distance girlfriend (now beautiful wife. <3) Knowing the joys and aches of long distance love myself, I can hear and feel this song’s emotions within myself. It hurts so badly yet is worth every moment for the sheer beauty of knowing and waiting for true love.

independent

Bushido by Adrian von Ziegler. A world music piece, also by Adrian von Ziegler. I LOVE the percussion work in this piece. It’s one of my work out songs because the tempo and beat is perfection.

alternative

Begin Again by Purity Ring. I have a soft spot for electropop. I love haunting, angsty songs in general, especially if they can loop brilliantly like this.

musicals

Be Our Guest from Beauty and the Beast. Alongside The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast is a personal favorite Disney film for me. I love every moment of this film, but amongst all the perfection, this is truly one of the most magical songs (and animated spectacles) of the film. ❤

Anna Elizabeth on Facebook invited me to share in her ABC music challenge and I’m totally game to join in when I can. It’ll be a great way to help me find something post as I settle into my new job too. Today’s letter is A, so I’ll be posting songs that start with A below according to genre categories as I can find them. ❤

Alive by Sia. This song is incredibly personal to me. There have been so many points in my life when I’ve felt beat tp the pulp and left for dead emotionally, mentally, spiritually. But I’ve always tried to keep fighting. So Sia’s lyrics in “Alive” really connected with me. Its a really fight song; fantastic percussion and tempo that makes you want to take up kick-boxing, with delicate piano blended with electropop. And Sia’ voice is just amazing. “I’m still breathing. I’m still breathing. I’m still breathing. I’m alive. I’m alive. I’m alive. I’m alive.”

soundtrack

Almost Home from Finding Dory. I’m obsessed with the Finding Dory soundtrack right now. It stands up well with my long time favorite from Finding Nemo (as does the movie itself.) This is a softer, quiet song with some brief moments of suspense.

classical

Adiemus. I’m going to classify this as classical. XD This is a long time favorite of mine, I remember stumbling over a piece of it as a teenager while on one of those bunny trail-trips through Wikipedia links. The few moments of vocal work stunned me and a few years later I was able to find the full song. It’s very otherworldly and heavenly, tinged with a bittersweetness that’s incredible to listen too.

country instrumental

Autumn Love by Thomas Bergerson. I don’t listen to much country, so I thought I’d make this genre a personal change: either fpr another soundtrack or an independent’s work! I had several candidates for this song, but I chose this one because it’s so sweetly romantic. It’s quiet and blossoming and warm, like the beginning of a new season.

Always with Me from Spirited Away. This is kind of a freebie genre, so today I’m sharing the peaceful, incredibly memorable and moving song from the end of Spirited Away. It’s far from being my favorite Studio Ghibli movie, but this song as
